Lecture Summary

The widespread power outages caused by ever increasing occurrence of natural disasters have highlighted the significance of power system resilience. Distribution system restoration is an important aspect for resilience enhancement. Flexible resources play a critical role but effective coordination actually should consider the interdependence of power grid, transportation network, and communication network. This presentation will describe how this interdependence impact power system restoration, how to model this interdependence, and how we can achieve effective restoration utilizing this interdependence. Some numerical studies will also be discussed as validation.
